A Vacaville man has been identified as one of the victims of a car crash in Idaho that claimed the lives of three other Californians over Memorial Day weekend.
This week, officials with the Idaho State Police said 22-year-old Juan Pablo Farias was killed while riding in a Honda Civic that collided with a GMC Sierra pick-up truck along U.S. Highway 95 near the town of Marsing.
Farias was killed along with three females who were traveling with him inside the car. One of those three victims was underage, police said; the other two were in their 20s, among them a student at California State University in Sacramento.
Three individuals inside the pick-up truck were hospitalized with various injuries. They were rescued by a Good Samaritan who witnessed the pick-up truck ignite from the force of the crash.
Police did not release a cause of the crash, but did indicate that the speed limit along the freeway is 65 miles per hour, suggesting speed may have been a key factor.
