Burning in rural Vacaville, Winters banned until later this year

Fire officials in rural Vacaville have banned outdoor burning within their district through the rest of summer.
In a social media post on Monday, the Vacaville Fire Protection District announced the immediate ban that will remain in place until at least the fall or winter months.
“Effective immediately, all residential burning has been suspended until next fall/winter within our fire district,” the fire agency said.

The Vacaville Fire Protection District includes rural portions of Vacaville and Winters outside each respective city line, including areas west of Interstates 80 and 505 to the Napa County line and portions of rural Vacaville, Dixon and Fairfield east of Interstate 80 and outside those city lines.
The agency provides around-the-clock fire protection services for more than 130 square miles of rural Solano County.
