Traffic on Highway 37 flowing again after brush fire near Mare Island

All lanes of westbound Highway 37 have re-opened after a brush fire near Mare Island briefly triggered a travel alert.
Shortly after noon, firefighters were dispatched to a report of a brush fire burning along the westbound lanes of Highway 37 near Mare Island.
A SIG Alert was issued due to the presence of fire vehicles in the westbound number two lanes of the highway. Officials re-opened the lanes just before 5 p.m.
Crews intend to let the fire burn down to the water, according to information provided by the California Highway Patrol.
