Firefighters knock down vegetation blaze near Dixon

Firefighters in Dixon are battling a large vegetation fire burning near the freeway.
The fire started around 2:45 p.m. near Interstate 80 and Currey Road, according to information provided by the California Highway Patrol.
Thick smoke is drifting into the westbound lanes of the freeway, causing slow traffic coming from Davis.
The fire was knocked down around 3:15 p.m. The cause of the blaze was not known as of Wednesday afternoon.
