Firefighters have knocked down a vegetation fire that started along a creek near Cordelia on Thursday.
The two-alarm fire ignited around 2 p.m. Thursday along Business Center Drive near Suisun Parkway.
Crews from Fairfield, Cordelia and Suisun were called to battle the flames burning along the Suisun Creek. The wind-whipped fire briefly threatened a nearby luxury apartment complex.
Fire crews reported forward progress of the blaze had been stopped around 3 p.m.
A crew from Pacific Gas & Electric was on scene to tend to a utility pole that burned in the blaze. Electrical power is out to several homes and businesses in the area.
The cause of the fire remains unknown.
The fire ignited during Red Flag conditions that was issued Wednesday morning after weather forecasters said a combination of low humidity, gusty wind and warm temperatures would cause wildfires to start quickly and spread rapidly.
