Vacaville police officer injured during standoff

A Vacaville police officer was injured by a dog during an incident Friday evening.
The incident started around 9:15 p.m. when officers were attempting to make contact with a suspect at a home in the 900 block of Countrywood Circle near Leisure Town Road.
At some point during the encounter, a police officer on scene was bitten by a dog. The extent of the injury was not known. The officer was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.
The suspect, later identified as Richard Torres, made contact with a police officer through an upstairs window of the home. Torres agreed to surrender to police and was taken into custody around 10:15 p.m.
What drew police to the home in the first place is not immediately clear.
Officers have blocked Leisure Town Road near Alamo Drive to through traffic.
Police officers from Fairfield and the Solano County Sheriff's Department assisted Vacaville Police during the event.
