Firefighters from two Solano County cities battled a one-alarm vegetation fire that broke out near the Pacific Gas & Electric Company substation in rural Vacaville on Wednesday.
The fire broke out around 2:45 p.m. near the utility substation along Quinn Road.
The blaze burned around two acres of lush grass before firefighters from Vacaville and Dixon were able to contain it.
No structures were threatened, and no evacuations were issued. The cause of the fire was not known as of Wednesday afternoon.
During the fire, utility workers disabled electricity along some lines, and that move may be to blame for a blackout in north Dixon affecting more than 2,000 residential and business customers. There is no estimated time of restoration for electrical power in that area.
