Two injured, including minor, in Vallejo shooting

Vallejo police officers are on the scene of an apparent drive-by shooting that left two people injured on Wednesday.
The shooting was reported just after 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Sonoma Boulevard and Chestnut Street.
At least two people were injured in the shooting, including a juvenile, Solano NewsNet has learned. The adult victim was shot multiple times in the upper body; the juvenile sustained gunshot wounds to the shin and foot.
The adult was taken to a hospital in Vallejo, while the child was transported to Oakland Children’s Hospital by ambulance.
A nearby patrol officer reported hearing around a dozen gunshots, then witnessing a dark-colored SUV driving off at a high rate of speed. It was not clear if the vehicle was connected to the shooting.
Police have cordoned off a stretch of Sonoma Boulevard between Bennett Avenue and Chestnut Street while they investigate the incident.
No other information was available as of Wednesday evening.
