Firefighters contain large blaze near wind turbines in rural Solano County

Firefighters have contained a large vegetation fire that broke out south of Rio Vista on Wednesday.
The fire was reported around 6 p.m. along the 1700 block of Toland Lane, with the fire burning near the SMUD wind turbine farm in the Montezuma Hills.
A fourth alarm was called around 6:20 p.m., only to be downgraded to a two-alarm response 10 minutes later.
The fire was estimated to be around 100 acres in size based on preliminary information relayed by a firefighter to the county’s emergency dispatch center.
It was not clear if the fire burned near any structures.
