One person has been arrested in connection with the start of a three-alarm vegetation fire in Suisun City, Solano NewsNet has learned.
The three-alarm fire ignited Friday around 1 p.m. in the area of Sunset Avenue and Railroad Drive, a fire department spokesperson said.
Firefighters were already on Sunset Avenue after being dispatched to two other, smaller fires in the area, the spokesperson said. All three fires were deemed suspicious based on specific factors learned during the incident.
Homes along Silk Oak Drive were briefly threatened by the larger fire, but firefighting efforts prevented any structures from burning. There were no injuries associated with the fires.
One person was arrested near the scene of the fire, according to a source familiar with the matter. The person was taken to the Solano County Jail on arson-related charges. Their identity was not known as of Friday afternoon.
Firefighters from Fairfield, Vacaville, the Montezuma Fire District, the Suisun City Protection District and Travis Air Force Base provided assistance during the blaze.
