Small grass fire burns north of Rio Vista
Solano firefighters extinguished a one-alarm vegetation fire that broke out north of Rio Vista on Tuesday.
The blaze was reported just after 2:30 p.m. when a caller reported seeing flames west of Ryer Road near State Route 220.
Firefighters on the scene saw two small spot fires, one of which grew to consume a 100-foot by 40-foot section of land.
Officials say the fire burned about two miles north of Elevator Road in Rio Vista.
A water tender from Clarksburg was dispatched around 3 p.m., and the fire was contained about an hour later.
