Breaking: Solano County OES says Lake Curry expected to spill over

The water level at Lake Curry is expected to reach and exceed its spill point, the Solano County Office of Emergency Services said in a media briefing on Wednesday.

A statement from the agency said city officials in Vallejo are actively monitoring the water level at Lake Curry, and expect it to spill into its designated engineered spillway based on rain forecasts.

As of 5 p.m., the water surface level (WSL) at Lake Curry was just over 376 feet, according to a graph reviewed by Solano NewsNet. The lake spills when the WSL reaches 377 feet.

An evacuation warning has been issued for residents within a quarter-mile of Suisun Creek in parts of Fairfield and Cordelia based on potential flooding from water that discharges from Lake Curry into the creek. The evacuation warning includes a stretch of Suisun Valley Road at Ledgewood Road and Morisson Lane, and parts of Rockville Road, Suisun Parkway and Cordelia Road.

The evacuation warning was issued as a precaution, so affected residents and businesses can have adequate time to prepare in the event of flooding caused by water discharged from Lake Curry.
