1 dead after shooting near business in Fairfield

Fairfield police are investigating a shooting near a business that left one person dead Thursday evening.
Around 11:15 p.m., officers were dispatched to a convenience store along the 1200 block of Horizon Drive where a person was reportedly shot.
According to an eyewitness, a Hispanic male driving a green, four-door Honda sedan drove up to a person, asked if they "bang," then fired several shots. The shooting suspect drove away from the scene in the direction of Air Base Parkway, according to the witness.
The victim sustained at least two gunshot wounds, according to police. Friends transported the victim to a nearby hospital where officers were standing by. The victim later died from their injuries.
The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
Police are processing the shooting scene and are collecting surveillance videos from the convenience store and nearby businesses. A suspect was not in custody as of midnight Friday.
