A widespread power outage plunged more than 12,000 Solano County and Yolo County residents in the dark on Wednesday.
The power disruption happened just before 4 p.m., leaving more than 9,100 customers in Dixon without electrical service.
A City of Dixon spokesperson confirmed the power outage was impacting city facilities, but said phone lines are still working. The spokesperson said backup generators at the fire and police departments were being activated, but City Hall had no electricity.
Another 3,000 customers were without power in rural Winters, Davis, Woodland and on Travis Air Force Base, according to a PG&E outage map reviewed by Solano NewsNet.
By 6 p.m., electrical service had been restored to all areas except for Dixon. The cause of the outage was not known. PG&E said Dixon customers could be without electricity until 10 p.m.
