Breaking: Police investigating possible attempt to enter Travis AFB

Police in Vacaville and Fairfield are investigating a vehicle crash that may be connected to an illegal attempt to enter Travis Air Force Base.
Fairfield police received a call around 3 p.m. of a white Ford F-150 pickup truck that crashed into a fence bordering Travis Air Force Base near Markeley Lane. The tipster told police the driver of the truck was nowhere to be found.
The license plate on the truck returned to a registered owner residing in Vacaville, according to emergency dispatches reviewed by Solano News Update. Vacaville police also received information that the driver appeared to have crashed into the fence in an apparent attempt to enter the Air Force base illegally. It was not clear if the attempt was successful.
Both Vacaville and Fairfield police are investigating the incident.
