Breaking: Two-alarm grass fire ignites in Fairfield

Firefighters in Fairfield are battling a two-alarm grass fire that started near the area of Highway 12.
The fire was first reported around 12:30 p.m. along the eastbound lanes of the highway near Beck Avenue.
The blaze appeared to have originated in the creek area near a kitchen supply store and was burning toward the freeway at a rapid rate.
About one-half acre of dry grass had burned by the time firefighters arrived on the scene.
