SIG Alert issued after major high-speed car crash in Fairfield

Six people were transported to the hospital with various injuries after a high-speed crash involving multiple cars and trucks in Fairfield on Tuesday.
The crash was reported around 11:45 a.m. along eastbound Highway 12 near the Chadbourne Road on-ramp.
Fire officials quickly declared the crash a mass casualty incident, and five ambulances were dispatched to the scene.
One person had to be extricated from a vehicle, according to California Highway Patrol dispatches reviewed by Solano NewsNet.
A SIG Alert has been issued for eastbound lanes of Highway 12 due to vehicles and debris in the roadway.
