More than 9,000 Pacific Gas & Electric customers are without power in rural Fairfield, according to an outage map reviewed by Solano NewsNet early Sunday morning.
The blackout is affecting a large portion of rural Fairfield, including Green Valley, Mankas Corner, neighborhoods on both sides of Interstate 680 near Lopes Road and all areas along Highway 12 west of Interstate 80 to the Solano-Napa County line.
The outage was reported just after midnight, according to PG&E. The cause of the outage was not immediately clear, but power surges were reported by eyewitnesses immediately before the blackout.
PG&E says power should be restored around 3 a.m., though the estimated time of restoration could shift depending on what ultimately caused the blackout.
