Thousands of Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) customers are currently without electricity in Fairfield.
According to information provided by PG&E, more than 3,700 households and businesses are in the dark.
The outage may be linked to a power line issue that was reported Monday afternoon. Around 3:30 p.m., fire crews were dispatched to the 800 block of Empire Street for a report of a power line that was down and sparking in an alleyway.
The link between the downed power line and the widespread blackout has not been confirmed. PG&E says it is still investigating the cause of the outage.
