Large wildfire breaks out in Birds Landing area

A large wildfire in the Birds Landing area drew a firefighting response from across Solano County on Thursday.
The fire was first reported around 2 p.m. in the area of the windmill farm along the 6200 block of Birds Landing Road.
An arriving fire crew said the blaze appeared to be around 100 acres in size and was growing fast.
It was not clear if any structures were threatened by the blaze. The fire was knocked down just before 3 p.m.
Firefighters from Fairfield, Suisun City, Rio Vista, Isleton, Dixon and Travis Air Force Base were dispatched to the scene.
The cause of the fire was not known as of Thursday afternoon.
