More than 300 residents and businesses were left in the dark in Rio Vista and the surrounding area on Monday, according to information provided by the Pacific Gas & Electric Company
The power outage started around 6:30 p.m. and was concentrated on an area of rural Rio Vista east of the municipal airport. Customers along State Highway 84 in both directions near the Cache Slough and Steamboat Slough were among those affected.
Power was restored to the area before 10 p.m.
The power outage came during a Red Flag Warning in which forecasters said hot weather, dry conditions and gusty wind would contribute to elevated wildfire dangers.
The Rio Vista Library was one of several cooling centers opened by county officials for residents and others looking to escape the heat, which could climb well over 100 degrees on Tuesday.
