A small grass fire that broke out near Rio Vista drew a large firefighting presence to a county park on Thursday.
The fire broke out around 3 p.m. at Sandy Beach southeast of Rio Vista.
Firefighters from Rio Vista and the Montezuma Fire Protection District were some of the first on the scene. A fire commander called for a second alarm response, bringing firefighters in from Fairfield and Suisun City.
A mutual aid request was canceled around 3:30 p.m. as firefighters gained the upper hand on the blaze.
No structures were threatened and there were no evacuation orders issued. The cause of the fire was not known as of Thursday afternoon.
