Fatal crash shuts down traffic in Vacaville

A fatal crash between a big-rig and a sedan forced the closure of a road in Vacaville on Monday.

The crash was reported around 4 p.m. when a big-rig carrying vehicles collided with a Toyota Camry.

An eyewitness told Solano NewsNet the sedan was driving at a high rate of speed when it lost control, crossed over a set of yellow lines and crashed head-on with the big-rig.

The driver of the sedan was killed instantly. The operator of the big-rig was not injured and is cooperating with police.

Vanden Road was closed for several hours between the Leisure Town Road round-about and Canon Road while police processed the scene of the crash.
