Fairfield police shut down road after pedestrian crash

Police in Fairfield shut down an intersection late Friday evening after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle.
The crash happened around 11:20 p.m. in front of a restaurant along the 200 block of Pittman Road.
Initial reports indicated the pedestrian involved suffered injuries, but the extent was not clear as of Friday evening.
The driver of one vehicle was detained on suspicion of DUI, according to police dispatches.
Officers closed the intersection of Pittman Road and Central Way near the crash scene while they investigated the incident.
