The robbery was reported around 9:50 p.m. at the CVS store along the 300 block of Travis Boulevard.
According to dispatches, a female employee inside the store was shoved by a robber before being asked to open the safe, at which point the culprit grabbed and made off with an unspecified amount of cash.
The suspect was described by a store employee as a light-skinned Black or Hispanic male wearing a gray and white camouflage hooded sweatshirt, white jeans and a black face mask.
An eyewitness said the suspect fled from the store in a dark-colored SUV-style BMW. Police cameras showed a similar vehicle traveling west-bound on Travis Boulevard toward Interstate 80.
