Crews battle creek blaze near gas station in Vacaville

Firefighters quickly contained a brush fire that started in a creek near a gas station in Vacaville on Tuesday.
The fire was reported around 7:30 p.m. near the intersection of Mason Street and Depot Street.
The blaze was initially spotted by a Vacaville police officer who was patrolling the area. A responding fire crew reported a significant column of smoke could be seen from as far away as Allison Drive.
The fire was contained to both sides of the Depot Street creek bridge, fire crews said. No structures were threatened by the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
