Police from several law enforcement agencies are investigating a shooting in Vacaville that injured one person on Monday.
The shooting was reported around 4 p.m. along the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 in Vacaville.
At least one person, identified as a 7-year-old child, sustained a gunshot wound to the foot. The child was taken to a hospital in Fairfield for treatment, and they are expected to recover.
Video published on social media showed at least four bullet holes in the side of a gray sedan, but it was not clear if the shooting took place inside the car or from another vehicle.
The California Highway Patrol and the Vacaville Police Department are investigating the circumstances of the shooting, and additional information was not immediately available.
Correction: An earlier version of this article published on Monday erroneously said the Fairfield Police Department was investigating the shooting. A spokesperson for the police department confirmed on Tuesday its agency is not involved in the investigation.
