Fireworks suspected in hill fire near apartment complex in Fairfield

Fireworks are likely to blame for a grass fire that ignited near an apartment complex in Fairfield on Tuesday.
The fire was reported around 11:15 p.m. close to the Pointe Apartments near Waterman Boulevard.
Multiple residents said they witnessed people setting off fireworks in the area before the fire started.
A responding fire crew observed about 100 yards of dry brush on fire. A first alarm call was initiated, which drew a firefighting response from fire houses throughout Fairfield.
The fire was contained about 15 minutes after it started. No structures were damaged, and there were no reports of injuries.
