The City of Vallejo has been ordered to reinstate a veteran police officer who was fired last year after he was accused of improperly sharing sensitive law enforcement data.
The order came from an arbitrator who was assigned to hear a wrongful termination case filed by Lieutenant Herman Robinson, who worked as a police officer for more than four decades before his employment was terminated last April.
After a hearing, the arbitrator determined the City of Vallejo did not have a justifiable reason to terminate Robinson and ordered him reinstated with back pay.
An attorney representing Robinson said the officer will benefit from “a substantial six-figure price tag” connected to the outcome of his arbitration. He intends to file a civil lawsuit against the City of Vallejo and Police Chief Shawny Williams at a later date, the attorney said.
