The National Weather Service office in Sacramento has upgraded a Fire Weather Watch issued for this weekend into a Red Flag Warning. The Red Flag Warning starts Saturday, June 15 at 11 p.m. and lasts until Monday, June 17 at 5 p.m.
Areas of Solano County covered by the Fire Weather Watch include all of Vacaville, Dixon and rural parts of Solano County east of the Napa County line and north of Fairfield.
The weather agency says sustained northerly winds of up to 40 miles per hour are possible through the weekend, and humidity levels will be as low as 10 to 20 percent on Sunday and Monday.
That, combined with already dry conditions and dead vegetation, could make any vegetation fires grow dangerously quickly.
Outdoor burning is not recommended, the National Weather Service said. CAL FIRE has already suspended outdoor burn permits in rural parts of Solano County that fall under the state firefighting agency’s jurisdiction.
