The Fairfield Cordelia location of the Solano County Library has closed on a temporary basis due to a lack of air conditioning, according to a note sent to patrons by e-mail and posted on social media.
The decision to close was made out of an abundance of caution due to extreme temperatures that are expected to be well over 100 degrees. The library said it will inform patrons about that location’s re-opening through its social media channels and on the Solano County Library website.
The closure also means the Fairfield Cordelia library branch is unavailable as a cooling center, while other library branches remain open to serve in that capacity.
On Friday and Saturday, other library branches will remain open until 5 p.m. On Sunday, the Vacaville Cultural Center Library, Fairfield Civic Center Library and the Vallejo John F. Kennedy Center Library will be open from noon until 5 p.m.
