One person was detained by Solano County Sheriff’s deputies on Wednesday following a suspected case of arson on a rural property.
Around 3:45 p.m., firefighters from the Vacaville Fire Protection District were dispatched to a fire along the 2600 block of Binghamton Road in rural Vacaville. Eyewitnesses first reported plastic and tires on fire, then later told emergency dispatchers that a man appeared to be setting a travel trailer ablaze.
When deputies arrived on the scene, they located the suspect and took him into custody. His name was not immediately available, nor was it clear why he was allegedly starting fires.
The debris and trailer fires were knocked down just before 4 p.m.
